Finding Adventure in the Pacific – Paulo Ferro

My short video – Pacific Playground – is a compilation of recent freediving images I filmed off of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Coast in Southern California. It is an assortment of memories and blessings that words cannot altogether express. It is also a window into the ecological health and profusion of the Catalina Channel. For those of you who are so inclined, let me welcome you to my SoCal aquatic ecosphere and its creatures.

Paulo will talk about the thrill of still being able to enjoy the company of wild creatures that pass through our waters. Here, in Los Angeles, there are so many other worlds to see and adventures to be experienced. From this fabulous city, within a few short moments, one can be deep in the wilderness, high atop a mountain or, if you dare swim with Paulo, meet the giants of the Sea.

I was born and raised in Portugal. I lived in Africa, the Middle East, and the US. I now live primarily in Palos Verdes, California, and sporadically in Boston, Massachusetts, or in Lisbon, Portugal. I have travelled extensively worldwide, both for work and pleasure, and have been blessed with adventures at sea, the deserts, and some jungles. My main fun activities are divided between the ocean and the horses, and my professional career is focused in the industry of airborne autonomous technologies.
