Join veteran composers Chuck Jonkey and Stephen James Taylor on a sonic exploration into a sparkling new world. You will be transported into interstellar space via magical frequencies produced by newly invented acoustic musical instruments. Chuck Jonkey is an adventurer/composer/musician/filmmaker who translates his wild experiences into captivating sound, music, and film. As an “ethnomusicianthropologist,” Chuck captures and records native music worldwide. He has ventured into the Amazon, Thai rainforests, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and spent months exploring Java, Bali, and the Gili Islands. Chuck owns Sonic Safari Music, producing over 110 CDs of exotic music and creating TV shows and documentaries. His work has been featured in films like “Avatar: The Way of Water” and “Rambo 4,” as well as TV shows like “Travel Channel” and “Animal Planet,” where his extraordinary animal footage is showcased. Chuck also composes several hundred musical pieces for MICROSOFT’s software products. Notably, he crafted 4 hours of music and 46 songs for Disneyland Shanghai’s captivating “Adventure Isle.” Recent expeditions have taken him to captivating destinations such as India, Thailand, Ukraine, Morocco, and picturesque Caribbean islands.

 

Stephen James Taylor is an American composer best known for his film and TV scores. He has earned four Emmy nominations, two Annie nominations, and a DVD-X Award on “Best Original Score.” Stephen has written the scores to most of the feature films of Charles Burnett including “To Sleep with Anger,” “The Glass Shield,” “Selma, Lord, Selma,” “Oprah Winfrey’s The Wedding”, and “Namibia: The Struggle for Liberation,” for which he won best score at the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival. For director Robert Townsend, he has scored several projects including “Holiday Heart” for Showtime and “Phantom Punch.” Other credits include the HBO film, “Boycott,” directed by Clark Johnson, the 2004 Disney animated theatrical release “Teacher’s Pet,” as well as a number of television, cable and direct to video movies including the 2016 film “Southside with You, “which dramatizes the first date between President Barack Obama and his future wife, Michelle Robinson, and the documentary “Maya Angelou and Still I Rise.”
