For nearly half a century, veterinarian Dr. Carl Palazzolo has dedicated his career to animal care, treating animals ranging from household pets to injured wildlife. In this presentation, Dr. Palazzolo shares the story of the bald eagle’s recovery in Michigan through firsthand field experience, photography, and behind-the-scenes insight into the medical and surgical care involved in rehabilitating the iconic birds. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of America’s national symbol and the conservation efforts that helped bring the species back from decline.

The evening will also highlight Dr. Palazzolo’s upcoming coffee table book, The Comeback of Our National Symbol in Michigan, which documents the return of bald eagles through beautiful photography. Advanced copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

Dr. Carl Palazollo is the owner and a veterinarian at Long Beach Animal Hospital and has worked professionally with animals since graduating from the Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1978. He later earned his MBA from Pepperdine University in 1985. In addition to caring for dogs, cats, birds, and exotic animals, he has spent decades providing medical treatment for injured wildlife both in California and around the world. An avid wildlife photographer and traveler who has visited all seven continents, Dr. Palazzolo combines veterinary expertise with a lifelong passion for conservation.
